Hello,

I am looking for examples of what happens to a local economy and the tourism industry in a given locality when a new resort is built.

I need to find figures (ie. local business revenues increased by __, and rate of new hotel & restaurant openings increased by __).

Is there a national organization that keeps these statistics?

Where might I find case studies releveant to these questions?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Once place to look at as an example is French Lick Indiana. They have just recently opened a new Casino and rennovated two historic hotels in order to create something that was there many years ago.
